How Do We Manufacture Customize Sandwich Wrap Paper and Custom Deli Paper?

There are many stages through which custom sandwich wrapping paper has to go through before landing at your doorstep. At Wax Papers Hub we want to be transparent with our clients and that’s why we will be going to take a quick look at our manufacturing process.

The process starts with a selection of pulp selection. We choose sustainable forests based on their cellulose content and fiber length. Then these wood chips undergo mechanical or chemical pulping in which wood is broken down into fibrous pulp. This method is known as kraft pulping or thermomechanical pulping (TMP). With the help of this we achieve a smooth and a non-porous surface. This pulp is then refined through centrifugal cleaners to remove impurities and then goes for the bleaching process.

To make custom sandwich paper sheet rolls shiny we bleach them through eco-friendly materials such as hydrogen peroxide rather than chlorine. It allows us to reach a brightness level of 80-90%.

After the bleaching and refinement process is done the excess process is removed. The sheet thickness is then ranging from 30 to 40 gsm. Then it passed through rollers in the drying section leaving moisture below 5%. This makes the paper more tear resistant.

After drying, the coating is applied to these personalized sandwich papers. It is compatible with different types of coatings such as wax or PE. Each of the coatings has its own advantages. For example, wax coating offers grease resistance properties On the other hand, polyethylene coating provides moisture barrier properties. After the coating is applied, the final paper comes in 38 GSM for white paper and 40 GSM for brown kraft paper.

Cutting & Packaging

Once coated, the paper wrap sandwich go for cutting through rotary cutters or guillotines and cut according to your specified dimensions ranging from 4″ x 4″ all the way up to 20″ x 28″.

Printing

After cutting, your sheets get printed through our advanced printing technology such as flexographic or digital printing.
